Smutek Dance Project
An established group of professional dancers selected to perform Christa Smutek choreography at various festivals, showcases, and competitions.
Smutek Dance premiered, “I’m Generally Miserable”, at White Wave SoloDuo Festival 2023 and was then invited to perform it again at Dumbo Dance Festival. Smutek Dance premiered “Whodunnit” at Detroit Dance City Festival 2023. “The Making of Grief Point was featured in DDCF Dance and Celebration event 2022. Her duet, “Dissonance”, was performed in NYC at White Wave SoloDuo Festival 2022 and CDCFest 2021. Her solo “Lastly”, was awarded Best Choreography at DDCF 2021. Unchained, won Newbie Film Favorite in Opine Dance Film Festival 2021. It was also selected for Cinedanza Festival in Italy. Smutek Dance placed 4th at World of Dance Chicago 2019. Other performances include Eisenhower Dance Ensemble’s New DanceFest and Pius XI High School Dance Department Fall Showcase, Screen Dance International, and Dancentric Film Festival.

The Collective Movement
Co-founder and director Christa Smutek created The Collective Movement to offer a refreshing approach to the in-studio dance intensive experience. Our goal is to bring dancers together as a community to focus on their strengths, unique qualities, and artistry.
The Collective Movement strives to be the new ambassador for dance instruction and education. Our unique approach features an expanding network of teachers, artists, and choreographers recognized nationally and locally. We are committed to growing The Collective Movement faculty to offer excellence in dance training.
